Surviving the first third of their schedule with a very respectable 6 – 2 mark, the Pella High girls’ basketball team is starting to get into a groove. They’ve played four very tough schools, including ranked Carlisle and Ballard, and two big conference wins over Dallas Center – Grimes and Grinnell. There are still plenty of games left in the season, but Coach Jerod Garland believes his Lady Dutch have yet to begin to play their best basketball. After a bout with Ankeny Christian Academy on Monday, Pella’s girls finish their first trip through the Little Hawkeye Conference with games against Norwalk, Newton, and Oskaloosa.
