A Des Moines man has pled not guilty to felony charges related to an October assault in Hamilton.

29-year-old Todd Alan Kurth Sr has been charged with two counts of Domestic Abuse Assault, Class D felonies, one count Willful Injury Resulting in Bodily Injury, a Class D Felony, one count of First Degree Harassment, and one count Possession of Marijuana.

According to court records, the victim told police Kurth grabbed her and threatened to kill her, then threw her down on the ground, impeding her breathing. Kurth also allegedly bit the victim’s face during the altercation.

Kurth is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
