Their numbers a bit down from recent years, the Pella Christian girls’ basketball team entered the 2014-15 season with more question marks than answers. The Eagles brought with them five seniors, all of whom saw playing time last year, but also had five others who saw little to no time on the court on the varsity side. Despite this, Pella Christian won their opening two contests against Van Meter on the road and versus A-D-M. Coach Kevin Van Maanen says it’s always hard trying to get that early season meld between new and experienced players, but his team was able to get the job done. Freshman Kaley Wilson is out indefinitely with an injury suffered against PCM. The 5 – 2 Eagles play their next five games on the road, starting with a test at Albia this Tuesday.
