Two Knoxville men are facing felony charges for allegedly stealing items from a car.
18-year-old Curtis James Matthias and 19-year-old Jacob Lee Patchett are both charged with Third Degree Burglary, Class D felonies, and Third Degree Theft.
According to court documents, the victim told police both Matthias and Patchett were seen near her vehicle at around 1am along Gordon Street on Sunday, December 22nd. At first the victim didn’t realize anything was missing but discovered her backpack containing college textbooks and notebooks was taken from her car. It was later returned by a third party, but an Apple Ipod Touch that was in the bag was not returned.
Knoxville Police brought the suspects in for questioning, and based on their conversations, they were arrested on December 31st.
Both are scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, January 9th.
