After one to two inches of snow caused many travel issues for drivers in Marion County and in Iowa on Saturday night into Sunday morning, there could me more headaches for those who are on the road Monday afternoon and evening.
Another storm system is expected to bring three to six inches of snow and blowing snow to south central Iowa. A winter storm watch will go into effect on Monday afternoon. The brunt of this system is expected to hit the northern half of the state, as those heading north of Interstate 80 could see totals exceed six to eight inches by Tuesday morning. Once snow leaves the area, near record-cold settles in, with overnight lows expected to dip well below zero and dangerous wind chills expected Tuesday and Wednesday night. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest cancellation and delay information and winter weather forecast.
