The Pella City Council will hold the 2nd reading of a pair of ordinances at their first meeting of the new year tonight.
They will review the plans for a proposed increase to the City’s electric rate, effective in March of this year. If approved, the ordinance would raise rates three percent, because of an increase in cost of service from Missouri River Energy Services due to the Lake Red Rock Hydroelectric Dam project. The council will also look at a proposed ordinance that would adjust the Pella City Code to reflect the correct titles of the city’s current boards and commissions, due to the addition of a Historic Preservation Commission in November. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. inside the Public Safety Complex.
