Extremely cold temperatures and wind chill values are forecast throughout the day Wednesday.
Strong northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts near 35 mph are likely to cause significant wind chills of 25 to 40 below zero through Wednesday morning. Patchy blowing snow is possible anywhere where there is fresh snow pack and may lead to brief restrictions in visibility and icy roads. Bitter cold temperatures continue into Thursday, with morning lows of 10 to 15 below and winds chills as cold as 35 below zero possible. Another shot of cold air from a clipper system brings strong northwest winds across the state Thursday night through Friday.
