Marion County Bank has made a large donation to the Pella Food Shelf after overwhelming customer participation in a special holiday program.
Marion County Bank’s Giant Christmas Card received 844 signatures from customers of Marion County Bank. Each signature earned a $2 donation, for a total of $1688. The Pella Food Shelf feeds an average of 500 families a month and now includes a mobile food pantry. They are located at Peace Lutheran Church and are open each Tuesday morning from 8:00 to 9:00 am and Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Anyone in the Pella Community School District in need of food assistance is encouraged to use the Pella Food Shelf.
