Flu season is still hitting Knoxville hard.
Officials with Knoxville Hospital and Clinics tell KNIA/KRLS News they’ve performed over 350 tests for influenza so far this season and clinic visits are higher than usual with at least half the visits involving some sort of flu-related symptoms. Most of the positive tests have come back for Type A Flu, but some Type B Flu has been found in the area.
The flu vaccine covers three to four of the Type A and Type B flu strains, so getting vaccinated against the flu is recommended. The flu mist is also available.
