One local man will serve a key role in tonight’s NCAA National Championship Football Game.
For the third time in his career, Central College grad Brad Van Vark will serve as part of an all-star officiating crew in Arlington, Texas for the game on Monday, January 12th. Van Vark says the experience has been a special one the last two times he was a referee in a championship game, and says he’s anxious and excited to be a part of the experience again.
“I feel more confident in what I’ve done and the way we’ve trained,” he said. “I’m just really looking forward to working the game.”
He says his goal as an official is to avoid being noticed, but to also inject when necessary.
