A record 327 drivers will try to win the first big dirt racing event of the year as the 29th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals gets underway tonight with preliminary action. Drivers from several different forms of racing are entered including three with Knoxville ties. Ryan Leavitt from Knoxville, Andee Beierle, who drove a 305 last season at Knoxville, and 410 driver Cole Wood. There are also several well-known drivers like NASCAR hot shoes Kenny Wallace, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and 2014 Rookie of the Year Kyle Larson. Plus several World of Outlaw drivers like Daryn Pittman and Joey Saldana. Action is scheduled to get underway tonight in the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
