Girls’ basketball is thriving in the area with both the Knoxville and Pella high school teams ranked in the Top 15 in Class 4A.

Pella is currently 8-2 on the season and ranked 12th in the state while Knoxville’s 10-0 start has them now ranked 15th.
Knoxville’s 10 wins already match last season’s total.
The Lady Panthers will look to keep their unbeaten season alive with a road match-up against Clarke-Osceola tonight, a game which can be heard on 1320AM and 95.3FM KNIA beginning at 6pm. Meanwhile, the Lady Dutch try to continue their six-game winning streak as they travel to Oskaloosa, a game which will be streaming on KRLS2, also beginning at 6pm.
Area wrestlers are also doing well in the state rankings. In Class 3A, Pella senior Chase Petty is ranked 8th in the 132lb weight class while in Class 2A, Knoxville freshman Joe Hollinrake is 9th in the 126lb weight class and junior Travis Poffenbarger is 10th in the 195lb weight class.
