Central College will host the 2015 Geisler Penquite Foundation Speakers, featuring sessions focused on education.
The first of two speakers to visit campus in 2015 is Jan Hoegh, associate vice president of Marzano Research. Hoegh has been a classroom teacher, building-level leader, professional development specialist, assistant high school principal and curriculum coordinator. She is hosting two sessions on Wednesday, February 11th. All sessions are free and open to the public.
The following workshops will take place Feb. 11.
· Jan Hoegh: Becoming a Reflective Teacher, 10 a.m. – noon Feb. 11
The workshop will focus on self-evaluation and self-reflection practices. Participants will explore a range of instructional skills, assess strengths and weaknesses, set goals and design a personal growth plan.
· Jan Hoegh: Creating a Highly Engaged Classroom, 2 – 4 p.m. Feb. 11
Participants will learn how to create a lively, dynamic classroom in which students are excited to learn and have the drive to keep exploring until they succeed.
