The City of Pella has infrastructure projects on the docket when spring makes its return, including a focus on Washington Street.
At this week’s meeting the Pella City Council approved a $30,400 engineering agreement with DeWild, Grant, Reckert & Associates for the underground electric conversion project along Washington Street from Main to Hazel Streets. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the city hopes to complete the conversion project this summer so work can begin on a road reconstruction project in Spring 2016. The city estimates the cost of the conversion project will be roughly $344,000, with an undetermined cost for homeowners to hook up a new line to their homes.
