The PCM girl’s basketball team picked up a hard fought conference win on Friday night at home against North Polk, 54-42. It was a tough night shooting for the Lady Mustangs from the field and the free throw line, but they were able to grind it out and pull away late. Courtney VanHouweling led the way for PCM with 13 points and Rachel Freland added ten. The victory moves the Lady Mustangs to 13-5 on the year and stay tied for first in the conference standings. The PCM boy’s basketball team jumped out to an early lead and buried the Comets, 61-30. The win moves the Mustangs to 13-4 on the year and keeps them in the hunt for a conference title. Logan Gilman led the way with 16 points and Ricky Reeve added 14 points for PCM. Head boy’s coach Fred Lorensen was pleased with his teams defensive effort in the win (Actuality).
