Representatives with Vermeer had the chance to interact with Vice President Joe Biden during his visit to Des Moines on Thursday.
Vermeer’s Vice President and Chief Administration Officer Vince Newendorp had the opportunity to interact with Biden during his stop, and tells KNIA/KRLS News it was refreshing to see Biden as a real person, as he feels the Vice President was sincere in his comments about the issues discussed and the ones Iowans face. Newendorp says Biden’s comments about the value of manufacturing and the need for skilled workers aligns with the experience at Vermeer. Biden says that manufacturing provides good jobs and careers to graduates of community colleges, and that the United States needs talented people in manufacturing jobs to be a successful economy. The Vice President was in Des Moines to visit the Drake University and DMACC campuses.
