The Iowa Supreme Court will hear the civil case between the City of Pella, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the families of two boys who drowned at the Pella Aquatic Center in 2010.
The lawsuit stems from the deaths of 14-year-old Gael Paullette, also known as Gael Chrispin; and 15-year-old Nehmson Sanon after they accidentally drowned during an event held by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the Pella Aquatic Center. The estates of Sanon and Chrispin have filed an appeal to the Supreme Court against the defendants, which in this case are the City of Pella and FCA. The Supreme Court will begin hearing the appeal on March 9th at 7 pm at Creston High School.
