Tristan Clark looks to become the first ever state champion at PCM today as he will take on number one rated Ryan Lesure of Clear Lake in the Class 2A 126 pound state championship.
Clark advanced to the finals by defeating number two rated Bryce Severson of Camanche, 9-6 on Friday night in the semifinals. Knoxville Heavyweight Brock Caviness will find himself on the podium in Class 2A, as he will wrestle for seventh place today against Kyle Davis of Columbus-Winfield-Mount Union. Jacob Hoch of Southeast Warren at 160 pounds came up just short in his semifinal match to be the second area wrestler in the state finals. Hoch lost 4-3 to Kegen Fingalsen of Central Spring the Class 1A 160 pound semifinal. Hoch still has a shot to place in the top three today with a consolation semifinal match. Ty Schnieder came up short at 195 pounds for Southeast Warren as his season came to end with a loss to Hunter Johnston of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, 7-1.
