One building at the new Pella Sports Park is damaged after a fire earlier today.
The Pella City and Rural Fire Department responded to a call of a fire after 7:30 a.m. this morning at the new maintenance shed. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkum tells KNIA/KRLS News the fire caused extensive damage to the interior of the building. The cause has yet to be determined. Pella Ambulance and Pella Public Works assisted at the scene.
