Central’s men’s track and field team was in the fast lane moving up the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll, rising six spots to number 11. The boost comes mainly due to their tie for the Iowa Conference indoor championship with Wartburg last weekend. Wisconsin – La Crosse is at the top of the men’s poll. Dutch women’s track standout, Abi Davis, was tabbed the Iowa Conference female athlete of the week. The junior was named the most valuable track performer after she scored 38 of Central’s points to help lead them to a second place team finish. Both teams will compete in the Wisconsin – Platteville and Stevens Point “Last Chance Opens” this Friday and Saturday, respectively, to try to qualify for the national indoor meet.
