The height and athletic ability of the Pella Christian boys’ basketball team was put to the test during the Little Hawkeye Conference portion of their schedule. The Eagles had to deal with the 6’10” tower of Norwalk’s Baylee Steele, the Empire State Building of 6’9″ Austin Rix of Dallas Center – Grimes, and several others who had the vertical advantage over a mostly 6’4″-and-below Pella Christian squad. Eagles’ senior, Josh Posthuma, says a lot of credit to their success in making it to the state tournament can be given to the team’s shooting prowess. The Eagles must tackle defending champion, Western Christian, this Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A state tourney in Des Moines.
