It’s time to show how blue you can be.
Today is Dress in Blue Day in honor of those battling colon cancer. Governor Terry Branstad signed a proclamation Thursday declaring March Colon Cancer Awareness Month in Iowa. District 28 Representative Greg Heartsill was among those in attendance for the signing.
Organizations across the country are doing their part to bring awareness to the risks of colon cancer. Medicap Pharmacy in Knoxville’s Daphne Pearson says they’re offering discounts for home colon screening kits. She says early detection is one of the keys to preventing colon cancer. While it’s recommended that anyone 50 or over should get screened, colon cancer can affect anyone at any age.
