SELMYHR,CURTIS ANTHONY 001
Six years in prison is the sentence handed down against a Knoxville man for drunken driving and assault.

46-year-old Curtis Anthony Selmyhr pled guilty to charges of Operating While Intoxicated – 3rd Offense and Domestic Abuse Assault with Injury.
According to court documents, Selmyhr became upset with a person on January 15th and struck the victim several times in the back of the head with his elbow then slammed the victims face onto the floor. This happened after he’d been stopped while driving his truck by police on September 26th and was found to be over the legal blood alcohol limit.
“Curtis Selmyhr has been unsuccessful in handling his addiction to alcohol,” said Marion County Attorney Ed Bull. “On multiple occasions he has placed himself and society in danger due to his choices. I hope that as the weather changes and more people are in enjoying everything that Marion County has to offer, they are reminded to drink in moderation, and never to drink and drive.”
Selmyhr will be required to complete substance abuse treatment and batters education. He must also pay $3440 in fines.
