Government oversight meetings with the Iowa Board of Regents are scheduled for this week.

District 28 State Representative Greg Heartsill says they’re planning to speak with the Regents about fees being charged to students at the three Regent universities. He says the legislature wants to protect the rising education costs for college students and make sure they’re not being gouged elsewhere.
Heartsill says funds have been appropriated by the legislature for the last several years to guarantee tuition freezes but there have been recent complaints about an increase in fees.
