Fire crews quickly put out a house fire in Melcher-Dallas Wednesday evening.

The Melcher-Dallas Fire Department responded to a call at 313 Perry Street at around 8:30pm. Crews reported seeing flames emanating from the structure as they arrived on scene.
Melcher-Dallas Fire Chief Terry Fisher says a woman and five children were home at the time of the fire and all got out safely. The cause is not yet known.
Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says the Red Cross provided assistance to the family.
Pleasantville Emergency Services and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call.
