The Knoxville Police Department released a statement Friday stating there was no foul play found in the death of a five-month-old boy Wednesday.

Police Chief Dan Losada stated it’s the practice of the department to consider any death unattended by medical personnel to be suspicious and an autopsy of the child was part of the investigation.
On Wednesday, Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Knoxville Police responded to a call of a possible dead baby on the 1100 block of N. Depot St. The child was unresponsive and apparently deceased by the time emergency crews got there.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed as a result of the investigation.
The Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, and all those involved with the investigation wish to express their deepest sympathies to child’s family.
