Four of Central’s spring sports teams found themselves on the move in their respective polls for Division III nationally and regionally. The Central men’s and women’s track teams each dropped a rung in the USTFCCCA Outdoor National Team Computer Rankings. The women are now 18th while the men come in at 21st, and each group is in action tomorrow and Saturday for the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines. Dutch men’s golf is up to second place in the Central Region in the first such poll for 2015. Central has yet to finish lower than second place in any tournament in the 2014-15 season, most recently falling by just ten strokes to Illinois Wesleyan, who is ranked first in Central’s region. The Dutch men will participate in the Loras Invitational this Sunday and Monday. A big start in conference play has helped the Dutch softball team climb three steps to No. 13 in the NFCA Top 25 poll. Once 16th, the women are the second-highest ranked team in the Iowa Conference, with Luther now perched at the No. 4 spot, while Simpson slipped all the way down to 22nd. Once again postponed, Central will try to get in their previously-Wednesday-scheduled doubleheader with Dubuque tomorrow afternoon at home at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex Field.
