Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch read a proclamation Monday in honor of National Library Week.

Public Library Director Roslin Thompson says the week is a time to recognize the hard work and dedication of library workers across the nation and find out more about what they have to offer the community.
As part of National Library Week, the Knoxville Public Library is offering Food for Fines, where people can pay for their library fines with canned goods at a dollar per can. Last year, they collected over 200 cans for Helping Hands in Knoxville.
National Library Week will be from April 12th to the 18th.
