Starting on Wednesday, The Work of Our Hands in Pella is featuring a Fair Trade Oriental Rug Event at their store.
Manager Cheryl Newendorp says they will feature more than 300 rugs made in Pakistan. She says these products are directly supporting more than 600 families and the expansion of schools in the region the rugs come from. On Thursday at 7 p.m., all are invited to learn how Oriental rugs are made and how fair trade impacts the artisans’ lives.
