First responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident last night shortly before midnight.
The accident took place on Highway 5, just south of Newbold Drive near the sale barn south of Knoxville. A woman and child were apparently uninjured, but transported to the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics as a precaution. The woman needed to be extracted from the wreck by mechanical means. The Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
