Running, throwing, and jumping up against some bigger schools, Pleasantville, Twin Cedars, Melcher-Dallas, and host PCM all fought valiantly in Monroe at the boys’ track and field meet on Thursday. The Mustangs came in fourth place in the larger schools class, scoring 66 points. Skyler Coder took second in the 110 high hurdles and in the high jump, and the distance medley relay team also nabbed the silver. Pleasantville, one of the smaller schools in attendance, was seventh as a team. Kirk Wicks was third in the 200 meter dash, and Brad Wimmer was fourth in the long jump. For the smaller schools, Twin Cedars came in seventh place; Hunter Swope grabbed the bronze medal as the freshman took third in the 1600 meters, but then finished first in the 3200. Dave Williams was second in the 400 meter hurdles. Melcher-Dallas came in eight place in their division. Chase Wetterling crossed the line first in the 200, and Waylon Balk won in the high jump.
