The Central College softball team takes the field in the Iowa Conference tournament this afternoon, with a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament on the line. The Dutch are the number two seed in the tournament, which is being played in Decorah, and they’ll play sixth-seeded Dubuque, who upset Simpson 7-3 yesterday afternoon. Coach George Wares says that today will play a significant role in his team’s postseason plans. The first semifinal this morning is between top-seeded Luther and fourth-seeded Coe, and the Central / Dubuque semifinal is slated for 1:30.
