If the weather cooperates, the Pella High boys’ soccer team will host their annual tournament the weekend before Tulip Time at the Pella Soccer Complex this morning. The Little Dutch enter play 8 – 2 overall, and with the knowledge that they have a friendlier path to the state tournament than they did a year ago. The big thing Pella is having to deal with right now is their depth being put to the test with various injuries to starters. His team has handled it well, says Coach Mark Solomon, and the guys have learned to play as a unit despite the shakeup of the line-up. The tournament will be played round robin style. Ottumwa and Clear Creek – Amana are in Pella’s bracket, with Southeast Polk, Indianola, and A-D-M comprising the other bracket. Today’s tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m.
