The honors continue for a Knoxville police officer killed 77 years ago in the line of duty.

One day after he was recognized with a local memorial, Officer M.A. “Bert” Conrey was added with three other Iowa officers to the Peace Officers Memorial in Des Moines Friday.
Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada said it was his first time attending such a ceremony with a person from his agency involved and he’s pleased Conrey has been recognized at the state level for his service.
Conrey will be added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. later this week.
