The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be wrapping ash trees at Lake Red Rock to bring awareness of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer during the Memorial Day weekend.
Each tree wrapped will show the detrimental effects the pest could have on recreation areas if infestations are allowed to spread. Currently there are 23 states that have confirmed reports of the Emerald Ash Borer. The Army Corps encourages campers visiting lakes and rivers to not transport firewood to campgrounds for use this summer.
