Day one of the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track and Field Championships has already crowned an All-American from Central. Junior Cole Decker stayed amongst the front of the pack in the 10,000 meter run and wound up in eighth place to get the honor. Through five events, multi-eventer, Eric Larson, sits in second place out of 20 competitors in the decathlon, with 3,729 points, only 154 behind first. The women’s 4 x 400 meter relay team clocked in 11th place out of 16 teams. Four more events are on the docket today for the Dutch; Larson finishes the men’s decathlon, the women will run the 100 meter hurdle and 100 meter dash prelims, and the men have the 110 high hurdle preliminaries.
