With individual scoring strong, Graham Howerzyl of the Pella Christian boys’ golf team finished just out of the cut to make the Class 2A state tournament last night. Howerzyl put up an 82 and shot well, says head coach, Jim Dingeman. He says the rest of the field was just a little bit better, adding that Graham’s ultimate downfall was a quartet of double bogeys. Dingeman tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that he was really proud of how well he hung in there when he was not making putts. The Eagles graduate four seniors: Josh Posthuma, David Van Hal, Caleb Van Zee, and Jordan Vande Kamp.
