PCM’s softball team manufactured 14 runs in a 14 – 8 win over Colfax-Mingo last night. Rachel Freland rung up eight strikeouts in seven innings of labor. Offensively, the Mustangs were led by Molly Vignovich’s three-hit night as she drove in a pair of runs. Over on the hardball diamond, PCM’s boys ended things early with an 11 – 0, five-inning victory over the Tigerhawks. Austin Brown and Connor Warrick each had two hits, and Brown and Noah Henkenius combined for a no-hitter. PCM’s boys are now 2 – 2, while the girls’ record swells to 3 – 1. Each team heads to different locales tonight for games; the baseball team is at Albia, and softball heads to Chariton to take on the Chargers.
