PCM’s baseball and softball teams could not buy a run last night, no matter how hard they tried, in their losses to C-M-B. In the baseball affair, the two teams were tied at two going into the seventh, when the Raiders scored a run and held on to edge the Mustangs, 3 – 2. Tyler Townsend pitched well, but took the loss, going all seven innings, giving up three hits, walking none, and allowing just one earned run. Catcher Jerod DeVries was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. PCM’s girls were blanked in a tough 4 – 0 loss to the Raiders. Rachel Freland struck out 11 batters in her complete-game effort, but came up with the loss on the mound. Molly Vignovich had a pair of hits, including a double. PCM baseball is now 2 – 4, the girls 4 – 2, and they’ll each be at North Polk for another conference bout later tonight.
