It wasn’t until the sixth inning of the baseball affair with PCM and North Polk that a tally was scored, and unfortunately, it was on the side of the Comets and they held on to win last night by a score of 1 – 0. Austin Brown took the tough-luck loss, allowing only four hits and an unearned run over seven innings and striking out ten Comet batters. PCM softball prevailed over North Polk, 6 – 0. Kayla Jennings picked up the “W” as a hurler, giving up just a pair of hits. Molly Vignovich, Jayci Vos, and Abby Waddell each had two hits at the plate. The girls improve to 5 – 2 this year, the boys drop to 2 – 5; the baseball team is at Pleasantville, while the girls are off until Saturday for a tournament at Bondurant-Farrar.
