The 2015 Iowa Legislative Session adjourned on Friday.
Representative Guy Vander Linden says that the reason the session went more than a month past the scheduled end date of May 1st is because of a tough budget environment.
“I think this session went on longer than normal because it was a tougher struggle to get to the numbers we needed to get to on all of the spending bills,” Vander Linden says.
He says that state spending will not exceed revenues for the fifth consecutive year, which was a goal of his and fellow Republicans in the House. We have more with Vander Linden on Let’s Talk Pella.
