Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada is using the recent discussion regarding seat belts on golf carts to remind citizens about being safe when operating them.

Losada says one of the more common issues they have when it comes to golf cart safety is overcrowding. He says seating is limited on golf carts so that it can operate properly. Overcrowding can cause the brakes to fail and cause a driver to not be able to stop in time to avoid an accident.
Losada adds drivers of both golf carts and motor vehicles need to on the lookout for each other.
