A round of showers and thunderstorms today could pose the threat of severe weather and heavy rainfall in Marion County.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms, with hail and wind as the primary threats. The system also will likely bring the potential for localized flooding. According to the National Weather Service, one to two inches of rain is expected statewide by Friday morning, with higher amounts exceeding three inches possible, depending on the track of the storm.
