Not quite the facelift that Bruce Jenner got, but there are some improvements currently in the works for the Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium at Central College that should be ready by the fall. A brick-pillared entry which mirrors the ones you see on the Dutch campus will be installed at the southeast corner of the football field, and it will feature an archway that’s like the one near the college’s chapel. The stadium will also receive new fencing. A gravel driveway on the south side of Schipper Stadium will be replaced by a paved road that allows for handicapped accessibility. Central’s softball field will be getting a new handicapped-accessible ramp to allow for a smoother entrance for all fans. These are just more improvements that keep being made for Central athletics. Last year, the soccer fields received hillside seating, and the baseball field installed new stadium-style seats and fresh dugouts. Central football opens up the 2015 season on September 5 at home in a night game against Benedictine University.
