The Knoxville Rotary Club has recognized city councilwoman Carolyn Formanek as their Dr. George H. Andrew Service Above Self Award winner for 2014.
The award is given annually to one outstanding rotary club member who’s given of themselves and for outstanding leadership and dedication to the ideals of the rotary.
It’s named for the late Dr. George H. Andrew, who served Knoxville for 54 years by leading many significant projects and serving on numerous boards and commissions.
Past winners include Iowa State Savings Bank Vice President Pennie Sommar in 2013 and KNIA/KRLS General Manager Jim Butler back in 2012.
