Washington Street Conversion

The Pella City Council approved plans and a contractor for the Washington Street conversion project at this week’s meeting.
Schoon Construction in Grinnell will begin work on moving overhead power structures underground next month. Finance Director Corey Goodenow says the bid approved by the council was just under $130,000, and the overall project will cost roughly $344,000. He says this is the first phase of improvements to Washington Street, with road and sewer work to start next summer. The project is expected be finished in October.
