A pre-fair horse show will be held at the Marion County Fairgrounds Sunday.

The Marion County Open/4H/FFA Horse Show will begin at 9am. Horses will compete in the following classes: Walk-trot, Western Pleasure, or Ranch Horse Pleasure.

Ribbons to the top 5 placings in each class.
Age Groups: Senior-9th grade and over, Junior-8th grade and under.
Horses may only compete in one of the following 4H/FFA classes: Walk-trot, Western Pleasure, or Ranch Horse Pleasure.
Required Western Attire: long sleeved western shirt, jeans, helmet, boots.
Required English Attire: Dark Jacket, white shirt, breeches, helmet, boots.
Participants in 4H/FFA classes must be current 4H/FFA members, proof of membership required (membership card). ASTM/SEI certified safety helmets required for 4H/FFA members when mounted. 4H/FFA classes will be judged based on “A Guide for 4H Horse Shows in Iowa”. Non 4H/FFA classes are open for everyone and do not apply to high point. Patterns will be posted at the announcer’s stand at registration. Show management has the discretion to combine classes. In timed events, after completing a run, the horse must be brought to a full stop before leaving the arena. Neither the Marion County Fair Board, Extension Office, nor show staff will be responsible for accidents or theft on the grounds.
