The theme of the 2014-15 women’s basketball season at Central was started shortly before the school year began. Emily Neff, who was hoped to be a big contributor to a young team, went down for the year with a leg injury. Then, during the non-conference schedule, third-team all-conference player, Kenzie Vander Molen also was trying to deal with an injury. This was followed by Rachel Evans injuring her hand in the first league game and was out for a majority of the year, as well as Abbie Agan and Madeline Simmons. Coach Chelsea Petersen says you really can’t prepare for the run of bad luck they had, but is satisfied with the attitude the rest of the team had with each setback. First game of the 2015-16 season is coming up on November 14.
