The Pella Christian Eagles softball team continued their momentum from a big win over Osky on Monday with their 4-0 victory over Number 7 in 1A Lynnville-Sully last night.
Sophomore Hurler Emma Schnell continued her impressive debut season with the Eagles, earning a complete-game shutout and striking out seven Hawks.
Tessa Howerzyl went 2/3 with an RBI double and Natalie Vos also had a run score on her two-bagger in the 4th. Head Coach Karen Harrill says she was impressed with her hitters’ poise in scoring position against a formidable Lynnville-Sully defense.
“Hitting the ball hard in those situations, I don’t care if it’s a long fly ball to the outfield–they’ll tag and we’ll score, or if it’s just a hard hit ball through the infield–we like that, we like to score from second and third,” Harrill says.
The Eagles move to 16-5 on the season, and will play two on the road against Norwalk, including a continuation of a rain-suspended contest.
