Marion County Veterans Affairs Department Head Mike Kuhn is letting disabled veterans know that homestead property tax credit applications are due Tuesday.

A bill signed by Governor Terry Branstad last week puts the tax credit into effect immediately.
This credit is available to 100 percent of service-connected disabled veterans, family members receiving Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC), and individual unemployable disabled veterans certified and paid by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the 100 percent level.
Applications should be turned into the Marion County Assessor’s office.
